This is the last meeting in Technology – Enhanced English Learning. so on this occasion we have to make a portfolio by telling our experiences in Technology – enhanced learning. So far I get interesting experiences from this learning I get new knowledge, I get a lot of information about technology that can spur learning English. In this study we can get a lot of resources that we can use as students to hone our abilities in language skills such as listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary and many more.

CREATING QUIZZES

In this meeting we have to make a quiz of either Vocabulary or Grammar. This quiz should contain at least 10 items. We can use several items to make the quiz, they are Kahoot, Quizziz, Socrative or other apps. In this opportunity I have choose Kahoot to make my quiz about Grammar.

To make a quiz on kahoot, I searched it on the internet. and here’s how to make a quiz on kahoot

1. Open the Kahoot! app and tap Create in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
2. Add a title, description and cover image, just like you do on your computer. You can use an image from your camera roll or snap a new one as you’re creating!
3. Choose if you want to keep this kahoot private, make it visible to everyone or share it with your team (for business users only).
4. Tap Add question. Add the question and answer options. Toggle correct and incorrect answers. Change time limit to fit question type.
5. Remember to add images and videos! Check progress against our Question checklist – it’ll hint if something is missing.
6. Check progress against our overall Kahoot checklist – it’ll help you with all the ingredients of a perfect kahoot.

So, here my quiz is used kahoot This is one example of my quiz questions that I made using the application kahoot. Of course, I get a pleasant experience using this application, this application makes learning interesting and challenging

In this meeting we have a discussion about Technology and Grammar, as usual Mr. Dedy gave a video that we had to watch as learning material that we should discuss. Then after watching we have to answer the questions that have been provided, and finally we have to submit our assignments to the form provided on the Unja English E-learning website.

In this eleventh meeting in Technology enhanced language learning, we have a discussion about Technology and vocabulary. Mr. Dedy gave the materials with videos containing about teaching vocabulary. In those videos we can learn about how important vocabulary is, what the teacher should know and then advice for the teacher. Of course, every video gives me the benefits and additional knowledge for me personally because in those videos we get the new information. After we have seen the video, we have answered some of the questions submitted in Topic 5: Technology and vocabulary.

In this meeting Mr. Dedy was present some videos related to the Speaking course. In those videos explain how important speaking, what the teacher should know, and then the advice for the teacher.

And also the videos offered some technologies and resources that we can use when we teach speaking. After the end of the session we have to answer some questions that have been provided in form A04. And then after we have been following this session we have to make a small group discussion to teaching speaking in a large class. My discussion report

In this opportunity we have been discussed about teaching speaking in large class. We using WA group to  express our respective opinion. We also discuss about how technology helping learners able to achieve their maximum potential in speaking.

                So this is my summary for our discussion. In teaching speaking,  Speaking is one of the skills that have to be mastered by student in learning English speaking is an essential tool for communicating. In the class room, improving the speaking abilities of student has always been a concern. In the fast developing 21^st century various innovative technology can help student to improve their speaking skill. For the example like Internet, podcast, video conferencing , speech , etc.

                In teaching speaking, we as the teacher have to make small group for student and also give the new topic for student to discuss it. In these small group student can have interaction for their member to discuss some topics. Students’ Interaction also helping them express their own opinion and solve the problems with each other. From this activity students can   improve their speaking skill indirectly. For small group discussion we also can use some technology to help student improve their speaking skill , such as WhatsApp, skype, and Podcast. For those technologies student can keep interaction for each other even though they’re not in the class.

                In teaching speaking for the large class we as the teacher can give instruction for students to deliver a speech in front of the class. This activity could improve their confident to perform in large forum. For this activity we can also use some technology to guide our students to gain successful speech such as internet to search the information and speech material . And also we can use projectors to display the material.

                My reflection for our discussion is we as teacher have to make right strategy for teaching speaking in large class. We have control the activity for student during learning process. And also using small group discussion can engage student to improve their listening skill. Teaching speaking using the technology such as podcast, YouTube, skype to  make effective for learning process. And using technology became interesting way for student to enjoy their lesson.

               

Explore various options for listening resources , select and evaluate materials for EFL listening

In this opportunity, I would like to tell you about my learning experience in Technology-enhanced English learning in week 9 . To learn this subject I have learning at home because as we know that we are facing the Corona Virus which makes all the activities in outside restricted, so is my college that has to be done with a different system that is at home.

In this meeting we are have learning session with Mr. Dedy , then we have to open this website that is E-learning English UNJA to follow the material for this subject.

Mr. Dedy was present some videos related to Listening course. Based on the videos we have to discuss how important listening, what the teacher should know in the, advice for teachers. We also can use technology to help us in teaching listening. For the examples like Introduce opportunities to listen to the internet on sites such as voice of America, create lesson focused on short lectures from TedEd on TED talks website, then we can let the students to research the interesting sites for learning listening. and also in those videos explain about some resources that we can use to teach listening in the future or to practice our listening skills. After that we have to fill in the answers in the form provided. Then submit it to AO3 at the UNJA English E-learning website.

MID- TEST

In this meeting is mid test of Technology-enhanced language learning. So, for this day we have to make a quiz with the application called Hot potatoes. In this project we have to work individually, and it’s also being interested for me. Before we make the quiz we have to open the hot potatoes website and then we have to click this tab.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Vocabulary Studies is a fundamental English/Language Arts course that focuses on helping students improve and understand vocabulary words by examination of Greek and Latin bases of words, recognition of word parts such as prefixes and suffixes, and looking at the etymological, or root, meanings of words. Students will recognize relationships between words (analogies, synonyms, and antonyms).

COURSE OBJECTIVES

1. To introduce students to English vocabulary.
2. To develop basic English skills (Speaking, Listening, Writing, and reading) by understand the vocabulary first.
3. To expand students’ vocabulary in order to improve students’ grammar.
4. To be able to apply the English vocabulary in daily conversation.
5. To make students to be able to describe their daily activity by using the  vocabulary they already understand.

COURSE EXPECTATIONS

• Class will learn as much as possible about using technology in the classroom. Students will be able to gain new knowledge about technology and learn how to apply that knowledge specially in vocabulary. The skills that will be teaching in this class will also be helpful for students in other classes and their personal life. students will expect to leave this class with confidence in their ability to use technology in learn vocabulary.
• Students are expected to display tolerance and respect in all communication. Communicate with others the same way students do in a traditional classroom. Comments and language should be respectful and appropriate for learners.
• Students must be active participant.  Students are expected to contribute to each class session.  This includes asking questions, answering others questions, and adding relevant information. 
• Attendance is necessary to keep up with the class. If a student misses class time, they are missing the instruction time needed to learn a skill. However, if a student must miss class, they are required to make up missed work in a timely manner (1 day for each excused day missed, after which deductions will be made for late work).
• Students are required to keep up with their assigned reading and turn in assignments on time. Students will lose valuable learning experiences if they come to class unprepared.
